There aren't many photographers in the world that can lay claim to redefining a whole genre of photography. Jeff is one of those photographers. He is widely acknowledged as being as a pioneer of black and white documentary wedding photography and in turn he has influenced a whole generation of wedding photographers. Even though his own work has moved on, you can still see his influence in the portfolios of many documentary wedding photographers today.
Jeff's wedding photographs are characterised by his love of composition and available light and have adorned the pages of publications such as Newsweek, The Washington Post and Süddeutsche Zeitung. His work has been exhibited at The Getty Image Gallery in London and has been used across the world in advertising campaigns for Canon, Kodak, Fujifilm, Alien Skin, and Phase One.
He was voted as one of the ten best wedding photographers in the world by industry bible American Photo, one of the top five wedding photographers in the world by the BBC, and one of the 100 most influential photographers of all time by Professional Photographer. He appeared in the groundbreaking documentary 'Masters of Wedding Photography' and in 'Seeking the Light' with Sir Don McCullin.
The work in Jeff's gallery is a combination of black and white film and digital capture. Every picture has been taken in real time without the subject even being aware of the camera or his presence.
